Organic Law 2/2010, march 3rd, of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy

Summary:

The Law addresses the protection and guarantee of sexual and reproductive health rights in a comprehensive manner. It introduces into our legislation the World Health Organisation's definitions of health, sexual health and reproductive health and provides for the adoption of a set of actions and measures in both the health and educational spheres. It also establishes a new regulation of the voluntary termination of pregnancy outside the Penal Code which, following the most widespread pattern in the countries of our political and cultural environment, seeks to guarantee and adequately protect the rights and interests of both the woman and prenatal life.
