Law 14/2006, may 26th, on Assisted human reproduction techniques

Summary:

This norm rules the application of human reproduction techniques and the use of assisted reproduction techniques in the prevention and treatment of diseases of genetic origin as well as the criteria for the use of human gametes and pre-embryos. It bans human cloning with reproductive purposes and considers surrogacy (womb rental) agreements null. Every woman over 18 may participate in the techniques regulated by this law regardless of her marital status or sexual orientation. If the spouse of the user is another woman, she can accept in her favor the filiation of the son.
